Cellar at duckworth1/3/2024 Ryan, Greg and I thanked Elisabeth before heading into the city for an adults-only birthday dinner with the birthday boy!īirthday Dinner at The Cellar at Duckworth’s Chase absolutely ADORES Elisabeth (she is his favorite Gymboree teacher) and he lit up when he saw her and couldn’t wait to show her his “cahs” and race them all over the house. When everyone was up again, we hung out at home, snacked on smoothies and watched some football until our wonderful babysitter Elisabeth arrived to watch Chase for the evening. Once I was done, we all headed off to Discovery Place Kids where we met up with my friends Carrie and Alexis and their families and spent the rest of the morning watching the little ones cause a ruckus and have a blast.īy the time we made it home, Chase was in need of a nap and the guys decided that sounded like a great idea, too! After lunch, while everyone took an afternoon rest, I showered, worked on blog stuff and caught up on my small group Bible study for Monday night. The baked oatmeal did a decent job of fueling me through my own workout after the guys returned. On Saturday morning, we started our day the sweaty way! Ryan and his dad took off for a father/son workout at the gym first thing in the morning while I got Chase dressed and ready for the day and whipped up a batch of peanut butter baked steel cut oatmeal for everyone for breakfast. Greg flew in town from Bradenton, Florida late Thursday morning and ever since he arrived we’ve filled our time with lots of good food, outside playtime at the park (it was in the 70s on Friday!), exploration and relaxation. The Cellar at Duckworth’s is a unique experience that you have to try! Bring the family for an upscale dining experience or take a date for an absolutely special night. This weekend was a celebratory one for the Fagan family! We had a very special 70th birthday to celebrate on Sunday and spent the weekend trying our best to make Ryan’s dad feel extra loved and special. We can be particular about our brussels, but these were great. The Cellar cooks their brussel sprouts in a balsamic vinegar and honey reduction with pancetta and red onions. They’re served with baguette so break yourself off a piece, scoop up the oyster, soak up the butter, and then send it home! AMAZING. Don’t eat these like you would any other oyster. These sweet oysters are served straight out of the broiler and are topped with a creole butter. If you like tuna, you’ll love this! Char-grilled Oysters The fresh and well-seasoned tuna mixed with granny smith apples makes for a zesty bite. The Tuna Tartare is a great appetizer and dish to share. These fresh-cut fries are cooked to order, tossed in truffle oil, and served with a malt vinegar aioli. There is an art to crafting delicious french fries. Order as an app and share or keep it for yourself. The smoky Gouda cheese, hearty pasta shells and chunky pancetta all complement each other nicely. This hot and creamy mac and cheese is perfect. Thought the truffle was dead? Overdone? Think again. Food is plated in ample portions and served tapas style so order as you’d like and dine the night away. Executive Chef Fred Quinones really created something special. The fare at The Cellar at Duckworth’s is to die for. Another crowd favorite is the Cellar Smash. It’s a Manhattan-inspired cocktail with bourbon and amaros topped with caramelized orange oils and it was fabulous! As you drink, take note of how the flavors continue to change from first sip to last. You’ll find beverages you can’t find anywhere else. The Cellar has an expansive drink menu of classic and unique cocktails, local, aged, and craft beer, and a diverse wine selection. But don’t let that stop you from asking your server for a tour. The Cellar at Duckworth’s does indeed have a beer cellar (capacity 517 bottles) for you to store your favorite beers. You’re in good company!
